Lectures Programme

The Arts Society Isle of Man arrange an annual programme of lectures. Speakers from the Isle of Man, the UK and further afield present lectures covering a wide range of subjects including decorative arts, individual artists, art movements, music, architecture and history.

Owing to Coronavirus restrictions on travel, lectures by UK based lecturers will be delivered by Zoom until the Isle of Man Government permits unrestricted travel to and from the UK. The option to attend Zoom lectures at the Manx Museum lecture hall will be kept under review.

Members who wish to bring a guest at £10 per lecture, (students free) please .

Speaker: Pamela Campbell-Johnston

1935, the year of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of King George V and Queen Mary, and the opening of The Lansdowne Club.

Art Deco, Cecil Beaton photographs, magazine, poster and paperback book design, commemorative stamps, locomotive design and fashion, Pamela Campbell-Johnston will transport us back as she explores the many aspects of decorative and fine art of this fabulous time, demonstrating how these artistic forms reflected the period.

Freelance art consultant and lecturer, Pamela Campbell-Johnston has over 20 years of lecturing experience. She specialises in British Domestic Architecture and Modern British Art
