PORCELAIN: FRAGILE EXPRESSION OF BEAUTY

PORCELAIN: FRAGILE EXPRESSION OF BEAUTY

17th November 2020

11.30 a.m.

Speaker: Olga Stone

The delicate beauty of porcelain has decorated palaces and stately houses for centuries. Originating in China, porcelain came to Europe in the 14th century and many European factories have become synonymous with the exquisite luxury of porcelain decorations - Delft, Meissen, Sevres, Wedgwood, Lomonosov to name a few. Marvel at the skill of the artists as Olga Stone looks at the similarities and differences of the best known of porcelain styles.

A member of The Arts Society Isle of Man, Olga Stone’s training in classics, history, art, and music as well as deep insight into a subject gives a unique blend of creativity to her lectures and concerts.
