Heritage Volunteering

The Arts Society Isle of Man runs a programme of heritage volunteering

The Arts Society Isle of Man Heritage Volunteers Report 2017-18

Congratulations to Marion and Bill Hastings, who were presented with The Arts Society's Marsh Award for Volunteering in recognition for all the dedicated work they have performed at Milntown, helping with the ongoing restoration work in the library.

They received their award at Number Two Temple Place London.

Bill went on to say: "Just to let you know that we had a fabulous day, with the presentation at Two Temple Place. It is wonderful building and is well worth a visit. If you can get the opportunity to see it, it is a must. As for the ceremony itself that was held in a large room there. There must have been some 100 people in the 'audience' together with the award recipients - of which there were some ten/twelve. It was a real pleasure to be there and accept the award on your and "The Arts Society Isle of Man's behalf. One way and another, we must thank you all for that - without you guys it would have never been the case."

The team of volunteers are now carrying out a full house contents accession register with the backing of the Trustees and staff. Planning for this started in 2017 and the project is ongoing.
